Daughters of the King

We Are All Daughters!

Part of the vow we make as Daughters is to pray and to study. Lately we have studied women of the Bible, in particular, Ruth. The Christmas season reminds us of the gift we received from another strong woman, Mary. These two women were strong in their faith to take a stand out of the norm of the day, to listen to God’s call, and to answer the call with courage.

The women of the church are all daughters of the King, though not all of us have taken the vows, and we all need to pray for “strength and courage to love and to serve you with gladness and singleness of heart; through Christ our Lord.
Amen.” (from the Book of Common Prayer, p. 365.) If you are interested in learning more about the Daughters, please find one and ask us, “Who are you? What do you do? How did you know you were called to join this order of women?” We welcome you, and would be glad to answer your questions.
